What it the cost to register on this site?
Nothing. There are no registration fees for buyers or sellers.
How much does it cost for sellers to place listings?
Cost specifics are explained here. Costs can also be found within your Account Information Page by logging in to your personal "My Account" pages.
Is this site secure?
Yes. Your transactions are protected by the latest encryption technology.
How do I find what I'm looking for?
You have several options:
- We offer a "quick search" bar at the top of our pages for you to enter keywords and categories to search.
- We offer an Advanced Search page for you to refine your search criteria.
- If you already know what you are looking for you can browse the categories listed on the left side of the site's pages.
Can I save items to revisit later?
Yes. You can maintain your own "favorites" list within your account. Each listing on our site has an "add to favorites" link. Simply click that link and we will add that item to your favorites list.
What if I can't find what I am looking for?
You can set up search filters within your account area. Our site will then screen all new listings, as they are placed on the site, and if an item is listed that meets your filter (search) criteria, we will automatically send you an email notification.
How do buyers and sellers communicate with each other?
We provide buyers with the ability to contact the seller through a form that is accessible on each of the seller's listing pages. The seller will then be notified by email of the buyer's questions and the seller can either reply by email or log in to their account and reply through our onsite messaging system. The seller can choose to keep their email address anonymous.
What is a Storefront?
The Goophie.com Storefront Feature
The Goophie.com virtual storefront, like within a physical shopping mall, is a separate part of the whole mall, leased and operated by its owner or shopkeeper. Here are some other similarities.
The Storefront has its own inventory and may have additional Storefront merchandise categories of its own, not to be confused with the categories of the larger “mall.”
The Storefront has its own home page, with a Welcome Message by the owner/shopkeeper, a logo and a map to the physical site.
The owner/shop keeper has full control of his storefront, including posting merchandise, pricing, shipping, and other required activities. To do this, several “tools” are provided.
These include:
- The Storefront Control panel – where the storefront’s characteristics are added, adjusted and edited.
- A Storefront ON/OFF switch, used by the storekeeper to shut his Storefront down for any reason or any length of time.
- Several Storefront pages for introducing customers to the Storefront, posting sales and providing added instructions to customers.
- A fully operational email system for communicating to customers and others.
- An automatic Flyer printer routine, to print bulletin board pages.
- An automatic For Sale Posting printer routine, to print bulletin board pages with tear-off phone numbers.
- Automatically collected statistics regarding visitors for each item, items posted, and other related aggregated logistical information.
- A newsletter system to keep customers aware of sales, specials, other happenings and the like. It is easy to use. Turn it on and each customer will automatically be given a chance to subscribe to your newsletter. This feature is ideal for clubs and organizations.
- Posting new listings is easy. When posted under the shopkeeper’s ID, all auctions or classified ads are automatically posted to the storefront. Postings BEFORE subscribing to a storefront ARE NOT posted to the storefront; they stay in the “mall” with all other non-storefront items.
- An easy to use Storefront Control Panel provides the storekeeper control of his store.
